That the Association Agreement opens up opportunities is a fact.

WE SHOULD NOT BRING TO THE NEGOTIATING TABLE WHAT WE KNOW WILL BE A “NO”

Landry Riba has a degree in veterinary medicine and has been developing his professional career in the general administration of the Government of Andorra with positions of responsibility in the Department of Agriculture.

His trajectory changed when, in 2019, he became head of the negotiating team for Andorra's Association Agreement with the European Union.

In this period of time he has had to negotiate 25 annexes that will regulate Andorra's relationship with the EU. Each annex has had its own pace of negotiation but what has been clear from the beginning is that each point of the agreement has to be analyzed in detail to see if it has a negotiation chance or not.

The negotiation is complex and has been dotted with conflictive issues for the Andorran society. Important issues such as immigration, security or the arrival of European companies to Andorra.

On this occasion, in The Golden Loom we will focus on those issues of the Association Agreement that affect Andorran companies and entrepreneurs.

"Although the Government is convinced that the Association Agreement is not only a logical step in our relations with Europe, but also the best way to achieve the economic diversification necessary to guarantee a prosperous future for Andorra, it is very positive to see the degree of involvement of society in the project, to confirm the knowledge that exists of this negotiation as well as the opportunities that it can unblock."
